San Antonio, TX: Call center industry leader, TAS United, has announced that it is finalizing the process of earning HITRUST certification in 2024.
HITRUST stands for the Health Information Trust Alliance and is the leading information security framework for the healthcare industry. The HITRUST common security framework (CSF) is considered the “gold standard” of healthcare data security. It was developed to address the multitude of security, privacy and regulatory challenges facing healthcare organizations through a comprehensive and flexible framework of prescriptive and scalable security controls.
As a technology focused medical call center, TAS United recognized that hospitals, home healthcare providers, as well as solo and group practices demand the highest level of PHI security. For years healthcare providers have simply been told by business associates, “we are HIPAA compliant,” without any verification to support that statement.
“In 2020 as the pandemic stained our medical clients’ resources, we were asked to provide greater support and connectivity to meet their staffing challenges,” said TAS United president, Kevin Ryan. “HITRUST certification delivers the confidence to their management team that TAS United is a committed partner.”
HITRUST includes federal and state regulations, standards, and frameworks, and incorporates a rise-based approach that provides specific criteria to assess the protection of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems which are relevant to healthcare. The certification process generally takes a full year, requiring every department and employee to complete HIPAA protocols.
The HITRUST certification will provide the liability protection and PHI security for all TAS United clients.
